Chris Robert Downie, 62, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his home.
Chris was born December 25, 1958 in South Bend Indiana to the late John and Jean (Daniels) Downie. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from 1977 to 1981. He retired to Punta Gorda 8 years ago from South Bend, Indiana where he was the owner of a Chrysler Dealership.
Survived by his loving family, his son, Jason Downie of Rotonda West, FL and daughters Janis Downie of Warsaw, VA and Alexis Downie, North Port, FL and 5 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date by the family.

I grew up with Chris on Widener Lane in South Bend. We kept in touch on Facebook. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

We just found each other and I can’t believe we weren’t allowed the time to make more memories than we did. So happy you found us and that we had the time that we did. Love you Big brother!
