Mr. Aaron M. Rennert, 83, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of the Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Signature HealthCare of Port Charlotte.
Born October 24, 1927 in Manhattan, New York to the late Max and Fannie Rennert, Aaron grew up and lived in the Bronx with his wife Rose, working as a watch maker until retiring to Port Charlotte in 1981. A veteran of World War II, U.S. Army, Aaron was a regular volunteer at the South Street Seaport Museum in New York, member of the Folksingers Guild, past president of the Horological Society of New York and the Florida Watch and Clock Makers, etc. He was also a former member of Temple Shalom in Port Charlotte, the Lions Club’s of Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, and was a life member and officer of the Charlotte County Computer Group. Aaron enjoyed amateur photography in his spare time.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 30 years, Rose Rennert, step-daughter Sharon Harkey, and cousin, Philip Wexler.
