Although I only met Dr. Pizarro through the creation of the Phantoms of the Orchestra, I was impressed by his concern and support of Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Linda and Alex were at the first meeting forming the group and their involvement shows the kind of people they are. We need more "special" people like Alex and Linda in this world. Alex will be missed.
Sarah, Zack and the Pizarro family, our deepest sympathy. I had never met your dad (grandfather) but the stories that were told, it seemed like I knew him for years.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you both and the entire family.
God Bless....
Bonnie and Bob Lewellyn
My deepest condolences to Linda and family. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.
We were very sorry to hear about Alex passing away. He was a wonderful person and a great work team player. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. He will be truly missed!!!

Dr. and Mrs. Pizarro enhanced the curriculum for Charlotte Country Public Schools because of their interest in excellent writing skills, as well as educational opportunities for seniors who entered the Fred Farris Writing Competition. I experienced the joy of working with Linda and Dr. Pizarro inasmuch as this project had been one of our responsibilities in the Division of Learning for the district. The Pizarros gave much joy to the winners: a cash prize for college, a dinner, and a book containing copies of all of the entries for each winner. May God joyfully welcome the soul of Dr. Pizarro.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
I had the great honor and privilege of working for "Dr. P" at Inter-Medic, and later at 21st Century Oncology, where he was a "babysitter" Doctor, covering while staff physicians were out of the office. He was the most dedicated, compassionate, caring physician that I have ever known. He always had a joke to tell, and he had the most infectious laugh. Even when we had a bit of trouble understanding the joke, we would laugh just because HE was laughing so hard. No one ever went hungry. His favorite was the "wonder roast" chicken sandwich, and he would buy lunch for many on our floor. Most importantly, his patients adored him, and they knew that his compassion was genuine. He would spend hours with some of them, as well as their families, explainig treatment plans and options. One of my favorite memories would be of his office, which, most of the time, you could barely get into. There were always stacks of charts on the floor, piled as high as his desk, waiting for dictation to be completed. But his time was better spent with his patients, because they were most important to him. My heart goes out to Linda and his family on the loss of this wonderful man. Know that he is being loved as much in Heaven as he was here on earth. He has joined all of the patients who have gone before him, and whose lives were better for knowing him. R.I.P. Dr P...until we meet again.
This is most sad and I realize he must have been younger.
I too am facing an issue that is life threatening and I know what he and Linda must/and are going through.
Please accept our deeps sympathy and prayers.
God Bless and be thankful for the good times and many happy memories.
Faithfully,
BIll Hoyle
Linda,
Sorry to hear oof you loss my prayers are with and your family.

We are deeply sorry for your loss. I know this is a difficult time for the family that is left behind. The family should be so proud of the type of man and the the accomplishments of their dear father. We know Sarah and Tim Daniel, Sarah was always very caring and the way she spoke of her dad you realized that she loved her Dad. He had not been well for some time now, as hard as it is to hear, " He is in a better place" Our prayer are with all of the family.
With our Sincerest Sympathies.

I had the priviledge of working with Alex on a CD of Pablo Naruda poems and his passion and dedication to this project was inspiring.
I also shared his love of the game of soccer and we had many great conversations on that subject.
Alex was a very generous and loving man and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him or came into contact with him!
May his soul rest in peace! Amen.
Ximena Pizarro
To Linda and the entire Pizarro family, the Perrault family extends its sincere, heartfelt sympathy. Over the years Alex nurtured and saved many lives, and on occassion also helped guide some whom he could help no more to the place he will be residing in honor now. He will be welcomed by many. His profession was not an easy one but he could still find time to share a laugh and a smile. Even though this is a sad time, someone right now is hearing that infeCtious laugh.
To Linda and the entire family, just wanted to let you know my thoughts and my prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Nothing I can say will ease your pain but just wanted you to know I am thinking of you. Love to you and your family
To Linda and all of Alex's Family,
My heart aches for you all because of the empty space you have in your lives this moment; however I rejoice in the fact that you had many years with such a wonderful man. Although I did not know Alex well, reading Christians' tribute to him gave insight to his persona. I do know that you share with him incredible faith, the type of faith we all should hope to aspire to. I know Alex had no doubt where he was going- and is now jubilant at his arrival.
"La muerte no es el sueño final. Es el primer despertar"
My love, thoughts and prayers are with you,
Rosemary
My life has been changed forever by Dr. Pizarro. I was blessed to have him as a mentor. He is responsible for me completing my nursing degree. I have known him since I was a young girl and my mother worked for him at Inter-Medic. I had such a love and passion for medicine. He was able to see the passion that we shared. In 1987 he was in search of an office nurse for his practice. He offered me the position. I had three small daughters at the time and was not really searching for full-time employment. So he convinced me to take the job temporary and on a part-time basis. Just until he could find a permanent nurse. So I agreed. We worked side by side for six years. I went back to college and completed my degree. It was with his encouragement and reinforcement that I was able to finish.
One of my fondest, and funniest, memories of Dr. Pizarro that I want to share is that he could fall asleep in any position during his long hours of work. He once told me a story about falling asleep while riding his cousin on his bike in Chile. He worked and studies such long hours that he would grab a cat nap sometimes in the middle of his sentences. He would go to his office late at night to study a patient's case that was troubling him. I knew the next day because I would be talking to him ( with my back turned) and he would start snoring. I learned that this doctor that I worked for was always studying patient cases. He was one of the finest diagnosticians in the field of medicine that I have ever known. I will miss him and all the phone consultations that we have had over the years, since his retirement. But I will never forget him. He has set the standards of practicing medicine high. God Bless his wife and his family that he was so very close to and proud of.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Dear Linda and Belinda,
So very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Your friend,
Maryann
Linda & family,
Thinking of you today and hoping memories will comfort you. I will lift you and your family up in prayer as you go through these next few days.
Although I did not know you personally I know your granddaughter Ari who helped & consoles our family when my Daddy passed away this past May. Thank you for such a loving granddaughter.
I remember when Dr. Pizarro was one of the judges for our Realtor scholarship essays for High School Seniors. Most of us were pretty much novices on judging these essays but Dr. Pizarro was not. He was a real pro as he was in every area of his life. What a great professional, humanitarian, father, husband and friend he was. He has left a great legacy and has touched so many lives. To Linda and to his daughters and families we hold you dear in our hearts and we pray for God to be a great comfort to you all during this difficult time. Much love from Cynthia and Joe Logan.

Rest in peace Uncle Alex. You have touched many lives and were loved by many.
Sarah, my thoughts and prayers are with you today. May you find comfort and support knowing that your family and friends love and care about you tremendously! I know that your next few days will be difficult but know that your dad loved you and he is on higher ground.
Love you much
Debbie

I am so sorry to hear this news. I was employed at Fawcett Hospital from 1975 through 2000. Many encounters with Dr. Pizzarro. He was one of a handfull of Physicians who combined ethics and morality with the practice of medicine. I had last seen/spoke with Dr. P. 15 years ago and I'm sure I could pick out his laugh today with my eyes closed. He was a gentleman and will be missed.
Our heartfelt condolences and shared joy in the Lord as He gives peace and strength during this time............. my help comes from the Lord the maker of heaven and earth... Psalm 121. Praise God for His goodness and gift of eternal life

For my Papa, dad, daddy,
Oh how I love you. I appreciate all the words of wisdom you have given me all my life. They are indelibly etched in my memory and heart forever. I know that you love me and have interest in all parts of my life. That will never change.
Among the many things that you equipped me with, I hold fast to being a professional with excellence and integrety in my work. Your love and passion to learn and study always inspired me to contiue to grow as a person and take on my own interests and passions.
I love talking to you about God and science. It all makes sense. God is the Divine Creator with intellegent design. Science is just starting to understand. Psalm 19:1
Even until the last moments, you were still teaching me.
I will miss not being able to hear your voice, words of wisdom, or your contageous laugh. However, I rejoice to know that you are renewed and there aren't tears or pain in heaven. I rejoice in that knowledge and I thank God.

Daddy,
I will miss the funny stories you would share, your passion to help others and your love for your wife and six daughters. I can still hear your laughter and see your sneaky smile after beating your son in laws at a game of Chilean pool. Your words of wisdom will stay in my heart forever and will be passed down to my Sophia Rose.
Love,
Your Chilean Rotta
Dear Linda,

Sorry to hear about your husband. He was so involved in many worthwhile projects and programs in our community. Know we are thinking of you.
So sorry to hear of this loss. I remember Dr. Pizarro from my days at Fawcett Hospital in my late teens, and from Intermedic where I also worked for many years. He is truly special and will be greatly missed!
When I came to Inter-Medic in 1987 I met Alex and he was so happy that I joined the group that he turned over all his nursing home patients to me as well as his ER back up calls. He told me that now he could concentrate better on his beloved Hematology/Oncology.I received a lot of good tips from him regarding the practice of medicine (not in the books). We also enjoyed common music interests in particular our mutual liking of the Chilean Latin crooner and idol Lucho Gatica(a Dentist by profession),I still cherish some of his music that he recorded on a cassette for me and the beating he gave in a game of pool one time(boy,he was good).May he rest in GOD's Peace. He will always hold a place in my heart.
Linda,my condolences from Gina and I,may GOD Bless you and your family in this difficult time and give you the strength to carry on.
We are so sorry for your families loss, and we will miss him and his lovely talks so much. All of us here at Sams Subs so enjoyed his company. We spent ,many happy afternoons having a coffe with Dr. Pizarro. We loved his stories, when I was on the radio he used to give me pointers. When he did his poetry translations he would have us listen and help out. I loved the most hearing about his younger days and his travels. He inspired us all to be better people and not complain so much. I started attending school to become a nurse because he told me, its never to late! If you dont begin somewhere you never will get anywhere. I was so proud to be considered his friend. Heaven is a better place, and our world is a little less bright! We love you!!!!
So sorry and sad to hear the passing of Dr. Pizarro. He was one of the sweetest, kindest, intelligent, funniest person I have ever known in my life. It was truly a pleasure to be around him. When Dr. P would see you he always would tell you an interesting story. You listened with such intensity cause you wanted not to miss a word he was saying. It was a honor and pleasure to know and work with Dr.P. I will miss him and his great smile. R.I.P Dr P.
Julia, Roxie and Sylvia (and family): We are so sorry for the loss of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you; hold tight to your memories for comfort.
