Alene Bennett, 93, of North Port, Florida passed away quietly and peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice, Inc. in Venice, FL.

Alene was born July 23, 1920 in Sylacauga, AL. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her children, her daughters, Betty (Rupert) Woods-White of North Port, FL and Sylvia A. (Henry) Traylor of Philadelphia, PA; her sons, Harold N. (Stephanie) Bennett, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, George F. (Yong Sun) Bennett of Brown Summit, NC; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great- great grandchildren; a God daughter, Rhonda Hester and Cousin, Daryl Seals of Philadelphia, PA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Bennett, Sr. and her son, Lawrence Bennett.

Visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family.
