ALFRED “AL” W. CARINO, 93, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, Port Charlotte.
He was born October 23, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey and moved to Port
Charlotte 28 years ago from Middlesex, New Jersey. Al was retired from the wine and
liquor business in New York and a Veteran of World War II, U.S. Army. He was
a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Port Charlotte and the Holy
Name Society.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Eileen Ann Carino of
Port Charlotte; four daughters, Sue Ann Hassler of Mechanicsburg, PA, Mary Joan
Carino of Port Charlotte, Geri Friedmann of Belvidere, NJ and Lorraine Parlo of
Calhoun, GA; four sons, Al Carino of Monroe, NJ, Joseph Carino of Rochester, NY,
John Carino of North Brunswick, NJ and Carl Carino of Punta Gorda; four sisters,
Violet Davis of Pomona, CA, Anna Malfa of Tarpon Springs, FL, Trudy Oddo of El Cajon, CA and Philomena Budd of Orange Park, FL; a brother, Carl Carino
of Manchester, NJ; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Paul Carino
Visitation will be held Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM June 21, 2009at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 10:30 AM, June 22, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Port Charlotte. Interment with military honors by the U.S. Army will be held Monday 2:00 PM, June 22, 2009 at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.
