Alwina G. Parr, 75, of Port Charlotte died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her residence.
She was born October 7, 1931, in Cementon, New York the daughter of Alwin and Helen G. Geneis. She moved to Port Charlotte in 1989 from Clifton Park, NY. Alwina was a vocal music teacher for 18 years in New York and Connecticut, having graduated with a B.S. Degree from Ithaca College, in Ithaca, N.Y. Alwina, was active in the music life of the area, serving for many years as the accompanist of The Charlotte Chorale; pianist with the Venice Symphony Orchestra, and chairperson of the Charlotte Cultural Center Two Piano group.
Survived by her loving husband, Robert A. Parr of Port Charlotte; daughter, Margaret Mael (Husband Jeffery) of Port Charlotte; a sister,
Margaret Michelsen of Port Charlotte; a granddaughter, Lynsey Mael of Port Charlotte; and a nephew, Brian Parr (wife Mary)of Garretson, S.D.
