Anne Catherine Megenity, 82 of Port Charlotte, Florida died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice, Englewood, FL.
Anne was born in Detroit on January 4th, 1932. She moved to Port Charlotte in 1989, and led a very active and creative life in her retirement. She played french horn in many local bands, as well as in the North Port Orchestra, alongside her beloved husband Victor.
Anne was also a very talented artist, calligrapher, and sculptor. She taught calligraphy at the Cultural Center, and she created many beautiful paintings and sculptures that were displayed and sold at local exhibitions. Anne was loved dearly by friends, family, and students. She was an extremely kind, giving, unselfish, and caring person. Her sense of humor and beautiful smile brought joy to those around her. All whose lives she touched, came to love her.
Survived by her son, Pat Megenity of Port Charlotte, she was preceded in death by husband Victor, and son, Douglas.
Anne requested that no services be held.
