ANTHONY S. GIORDANO, 81, of Port Charlotte, Florida died suddenly on Saturday, December 22, 2012 in Lake Suzy, Florida.

He was born on February 24, 1931 in Rochester, NY to the late Salvatore and Grace Giordano and moved to Port Charlotte in 1996 from New Carrollton, Maryland. Anthony was retired from the National Security Agency, Ft. Meade, MD and served in the U.S. Air Force. Anthony, a first generation Italian American, was a loyal Washington Redskins and Maryland Terrapins fan, avid golfer and a member of the Kingsway Country Club, Lake Suzy.

Anthony is survived by a daughter, Lynda C. Giordano of Port Charlotte, FL; a son, Russell A. (Eilene) Giordano of Ellicott City, MD; a sister, Frances G. DeLoatche of Arlington, VA; a granddaughter, Sarah Giordano of Ellicott City and significant other, Carol Tafuri of Lake Suzy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Giordano, who died in May 2000.

Private memorial services and interment will be held at a later date in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie, MD. Arrangements by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.

I will always remember Tony for his infectious laugh and smile. He would always manage to make your day that much better. I will miss his laughter and sport stories and his positive attitude. Hi inspired me to be active and not let life pass you by. I am a better person for having known him for a brief time in his life. He will always be in my thoughts. God Bless Carla Borges

Tony was an associate at the NSA where fhor a number of years we worked in the same office and were officers assigned to the same U.S.Air Force organization. I fondly remember the times we spent. together over the years. He was a very fine man; highly respected and always had words of encouragement for people around him. I cherished his friendship and advice. My deepest sympathy is with his family.

I worked with Tony at the Department of defense. He was one of my first supervisors and I enjoyed the time that we worked together. He was an individual who cared about others and was a caring individual. He and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Tony was instramental in getting me assigned to a great job about half way through my career at the NSA. I worked for him in that job for about two years, and then we both moved on to different jobs. He was a great boss, and a great friend. He will be missed. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends there in Florida, and here in the Maryland-DC area.

Tony was my real estate agent when we rented a home in New Carrollton. We later became home owners and Tony was my son Joe's coach. Rest in Peace Tony. May the memories you have help ease your sadness.

Our heart goes out to all of the family and friends. Tony was a very special fellow and dear to us. He did so many things to help us out in "our younger years." His laughter and light-hearted spirit remains wonderfully contagious. Such memories will live forever. We will keep him in our hearts always.
