Antoinette Gildersleeve, 84, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013.
She was born August 5, 1929 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Anastasia (nee-Josef) and Elias Mitchell, and moved from Hull, Massachusetts to Port Charlotte in 1980. Antoinette was for many years the Hostess and Manager of the Village Fish Market Restaurants in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, Florida before retiring.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Adria Hartner, and son, Michael Gildersleeve; five grandchildren, Ilea DiNunno-Ponzio, April DiNunno, Michael, Mark and Melissa Gildersleeve; and six great grandchildren, Anastasia LiVigni-Ponzio, Vincensia DiNunno-Ponzio, Michael J. and Julian Gildersleeve, and Elias and Arianna Kell; two sisters, Olympia “Bicky” Salter and Olga “Patricia” Cox; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Antoinette was preceded in death by five brothers, Nicholas, Robert, George, Theodore, and Joseph Mitchell, and sisters, Alexandria Mitchell and Clathye Lorentzen.
A Memorial Service celebrating Antoinette’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Services followed by burial will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Antoinette’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
