Antonio M. Tosto, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in Port Charlotte.
Born in Bound Brook, New Jersey, December 5, 1917 to the late Carmello and Rosa Tosto, Antonio served with the U.S. Army during WWII. After years of employment, he taught himself to cook, opened a restaurant, and enjoyed being both head Chef and owner. He and his wife Jean retired and moved from Long Island, New York to Port Charlotte in 1986.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Jean, daughters Roseann Bertucci, Barbara LaTorre and Carolyn Berry; and numerous grand, great-grand, and great, great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Antonio was preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. with Evening Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Roberson Funeral Homes Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, with Military Honors and Committal to follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, both in Port Charlotte.
