Arnold A. Jenkins, 92, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Port Charlotte.
Born November 2, 1920 in Paw Paw, West Virginia, Arnold, a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army Air Force and retired Chief Engineer for the National Security Agency, moved to Port Charlotte 37 years ago from Brooklyn Park, Maryland. He attended Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, and was a life member of the Robert L. Cochran, Jr. Disabled American Veterans Chapter 82 in Port Charlotte, and the D. N. McQueen American Legion Post 103 in Punta Gorda, FL.
He is survived by his loving family, son, Garry L. (wife Pete) Jenkins of Venice, FL; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Leah and Betty, and a brother, Charles. Arnold was preceded in death by a grandson, Garry L. Jenkins, Jr., a brother, Conrad, and his beloved wife Irene Elizabeth Jenkins.
Visitation will be held Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. April 28, 2013 with Funeral Service held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29th, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Rev. Bob Carlson will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida.
Memorial contributions in Arnold’s name may be made to Tidewell Hospice.
