Arthur “Artie” Happel, age 85 passed peacefully at home surrounded by all his loved ones on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Arthur was born in Brooklyn NY on May 25, 1939, to Carrie and Albert Happel. He married the love of his life, Nicoletta Martello, on May 4, 1963. They had a long, beautiful life together and were true soul mates. They had two sons, Mark and Christopher, who were the light of their lives. Artie was a New York City Fireman for Engine 270 for 21 years and served in the Army, Coast Guard and Air Force reserves for 22 years. His life was one of service and compassion to all he encountered. Upon retiring, Artie and Colette moved from New York to Port Charlotte, Florida, where Artie enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Arthur was preceded in death by son Christopher of Port Charlotte, FL in 2016. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Nicoletta, loving son Mark, daughter-in-law Lisa, and his three grandchildren, Christopher, Michael and Victoria. He leaves behind many friends and lots of family who love him dearly and will miss him tremendously.
