He was born March 22, 1940 in Puerto Rico and moved to Port Charlotte 15
years ago from Gary, Indiana. He was a retired steel mill worker.
He is survived by his loving family, life partner, Mirva Rivera; a daughter, Mary Rivera of San Antonio, TX; Five sons, Javiel Rivera of Port Charlotte, Angel Rivera of Nokomis, FL, Robert Rivera of Seymour, IN, John Rivera of Seymour, and Joey Rivera of Jeffersonville, IN; his father, Armando Rivera of Miami, FL; two sisters, Hilda Diaz of Polk County, FL and Maria Brown of Hobart, IN; three brothers, Louis Rivera, John Rivera and Richard Rivera all of Miami; and 12 grandchildren. A special thanks to the Hernandez family and the Torres family and all those who helped during Willie’s illness. He is preceded in death by his mother Matilda Rivera.
