Mrs. Beatrice Brodis, 88, formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida and Bradford, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Born Beatrice Cohen on June 28, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Morris and Rose Cohen, Beatrice moved from Bradford in the mid nineteen eighties to Florida with her husband Dr. Leon Brodis. Her life was her family, first and foremost. She enjoyed her role as wife, mother, grand and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children; sons Dr. Andrew Brodis, Dr. Walter (wife Donna) Brodis, and David (and Significant Life Partner Ron Mana) Brodis; daughters Dena (husband Dr. Mark) Callman, and Ruth Brodis; thirteen grandchildren, Adria (Donnie) Stitt, Zachary (Jessica) Brodis, Greg Callman & Matthew Callman, Stacey (Matthew) Catanzarite, Rachel Callman, Rahcel, Jeremy, Joshua, Joseph and Jeffrey Brodis, Amber Morales and Jessica (Justin) Lauer; 10 great grandchildren, Isaac, Ian and Leo Paterniti, Lewis, Peter and Sarah Stitt, Aliyah Osaka, Brody and Riley Catanzarite, and Jayna Lauer; a brother, Herbert (Sima) Cohen, and two sisters, Violet Baron and Diana (Fred) Podolsky. Beatrice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Leon in 1994.
