Born December 26, 1937 in Jamaica, West Indies, Benjamin, a retired mechanic, moved to Port Charlotte from Queens, New York in June of 2000.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Joy M. Scott; 3 daughters, Patricia M. Scott, Josnet Roberts, and Lorna Scott; 1 son Michael Scott; 5 sisters, Naomi Tucker, Olive Sterling, Nellie Patricks, Iley Henry and Sadie Taylor; 1 brother Aubyn K. Scott; 6 grandchildren, Shakira, Shamari, Michelle, Brent, Lashayla, and Gregory; 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
