Beverly “Bev” Ann Dias Brearton,74, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at Tidewell Hospice in Arcadia.
Beverly was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts to the late Irene(White)and Frank Dias on June 30,1950. She moved to Seekonk, Massachusetts with her parents and siblings when she was 11 years old. She lived in many places throughout her life including Rhode Island, Texas, and Tennessee before making her home in North Port, Florida.
She had a passion for geography and travel. Beverly loved to research various places and traveled whenever she could. Beverly took art lessons later in life and became exceptionally good at sketching and painting. She loved to dance, listen to music, and enjoyed game nights with friends. She especially loved her grandchildren and all the time they spent together.
Beverly dedicated the last 36 years of her life to sobriety and was a regular member of AA. She became a sponsor to many over the years. She was proud of this accomplishment and never turned anyone away in need of support with their own sobriety.
Beverly is preceded in death by her late husband, Donald Brearton of 35 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Carrie Rehak and her husband Kruno Rehak of North Port, Florida, Christen Davenport of Coventry, Rhode Island, her stepson, Donald Brearton II and his wife Jodi Andrews-Brearton of North Port, Florida, her stepdaughter, Justina Roe and her husband James Roe of Lexington, South Carolina and her sister, Patricia Silva and her husband Michael Silva of Seekonk, Massachusetts. Beverly has nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held, Friday January 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida 33948. A funeral Service for Beverly will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. The family is having a celebration of life luncheon for Beverly at The Grill at 1951, 1951 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida 33948 following the service.
