Beverly Sue Lahr, 77, formerly of Woodstock, Illinois, passed away in the arms of her loving husband Robert and daughter Kristin, at home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Beverly graduated high school in Robinson, Illinois, continuing with a Bachelors, Masters, and a PHD equivalent in education from Eastern Illinois University. After Kristin was born, Beverly began her lifetime career with a focus on kindergarten in the public schools of Woodstock, Illinois.
Beverly enjoyed a lifetime of crafting and woodworks. She kept her complete workshop in the basement of her homes in Woodstock and later in the mountains near Asheville, North Carolina. With her passion for the arts, she painted various media with themes for her friends and loved ones and spent untold hours upon hours building bird houses mostly for charity auctions and friends. Bev gained quite a following decorating charity events for her dear friends.
She is survived by her high school classmate, prom date and later husband Robert Lahr of Port Charlotte, Florida, her daughter Kristin Cox of Arden, North Carolina, her brother, Tom Greene of San Diego, California, and her beloved twin grandsons, Andrew and Ethan Wyper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Norma Jean (Bragg) Greene.
Visitation will be held this Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 9:30 AM until start of service at 10:30 AM, at Roberson Funeral Home located at 2151 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, FL. Beverly will be interred with family in Illinois.
