Buna I. “Jean” Loose, 79, a longtime resident of Port Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in Colquitt, Georgia.
She was born June 23, 1933 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Jean and her husband of 45 years, James W. Loose, Jr., moved to Port Charlotte in 1972, where she finished raising their six children. She was the former Assistant Manager for American Legion Post 110 in Port Charlotte, and later moved to Newton, Georgia where she and her daughter Wanda owned and operated a Tree Plantation.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Loose, Linda (Russell) Trent, and Wanda Loose, and a son, Gary W. Loose; six grandchildren, Sarah, Russell, Niiki, Jayden, John and Sean; four great grandchildren, Derek, Russell, Riley, and Caleb; two great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great grandchildren; a brother, Fred Sensing, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James in 1999, and a son, William “Bill” R. Loose in 2010.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 with Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Committal and interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte. Rev. Jay M. Shepperd, Pastor Tri-City Baptist Church, will officiate.
