Burton Henry “Burt” Woelkers, 78, passed away on January 27, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Born on November 26, 1946, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Burt lived a life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a love for the great outdoors.
Burt proudly served in the United States Navy, embodying a spirit of commitment and patriotism. Following his military service, he built a successful career at Motorola before retiring. His work ethic and determination were evident throughout his professional life.
An avid outdoorsman, Burt found joy in fishing and hunting. These pursuits not only brought him peace but also connected him to nature and provided cherished memories with those who shared his passions.
Burt is lovingly remembered by his sister Pamela Nassauer; daughters Dona Herrera and Jill Jelen; nephews William Nassauer and Randy Nassauer: grandchildren Amber Roche, Adam Woelkers, Caralyn Jelen, Somer Eisenbart, and Katie Merkel; as well as eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Burton and Gilda Woelkers and his son Bryan Woelkers.
