. Michael Robertson, 66, of Fort Kent, ME. and Punta Gorda, FL. passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2013 after a brave battle with cancer.
He was born to the late Charles and Arleen Robertson on December 10, 1946 in Presque Isle, Me. Mike graduated from Presque Isle High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Ricker College.
He was an entrepreneur and was involved in many business ventures over the years, often with longtime friend and business partner, Pat Lovley. Most notably, he was a co-owner and co-founder of Northland Frozen Foods and the owner of Birch Point Golf Course. He also enjoyed investing in real estate and considered it a hobby after he retired.
Although Mike lived most of his life in northern Maine, he never liked the cold. In 2009, he and his wife bought a house in Florida and he was finally able to enjoy year-round sunshine. Punta Gorda provided the perfect setting for indulging in his love of speed boats, nice cars and more importantly, it was a place where his family could gather for vacations and reunions. Nothing meant more to Mike than spending time with his adoring children and grand kids.
As a person, he was quiet and reserved, but he was also incredibly funny, generous, and caring. He always put the needs of others above his own, and he was stoic and courageous until the end.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sherry Robertson, and their four children and their families; Mase Robertson and partner Myra Beaulieu of Frenchville and their children, Courtney, Rhylee, and Micque and the late Skye Wright. Kristi Blanchette and husband Jeff of New Canada and their children, Amanda and Joshua. Jemelie Koda and husband Michael of San Diego and their son, Ren. Kyle Robertson and partner Olivia Babin of Eagle Lake and their sons, Michael, Dawson, Kaden, and Ryder. He is also survived by his two younger brothers; Jeff Robertson and wife, Andrea of Falmouth, Pat Robertson and wife Dianne of Presque Isle, step mother, Leila Robertson; and step siblings, Patty Smith, Carolyn Shaw, Fred Fletcher and their spouses, as well as many nieces and nephews.
