CHARLES JAMES “JIM” FOX, 70, of Lake Suzy, Florida and formerly Northville, NY died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Port Charlotte.

He was born May 7, 1942 in Gloversville, New York to the late Donald W. and Muriel Managun Fox. Jim was a 1960 graduate of Gloversville High School and a 1964 graduate of SUNY at Oneonta with a B.S. degree in math education and received a Master’s degree in 1968. Jim taught at Park Terrace Elementary School in Gloversville for 3 years and then taught math at Mayfield High School in Mayfield, NY for 30 years.

Jim loved golf and was a former member of Kingsway Country Club in Lake Suzy and
Port Charlotte Golf Club. He was also a former member of the Sacandaga Golf Club in Northville, NY and a member of the Elks Lodge. Jim had a fantastic sense of humor and everyone who knew Jim loved him.

He is survived by his loving family, wife of 46 years, Patricia A. Fox; a son, Jeff (Sue) Fox of Delmar, NY; daughters, Traci (John) Maurer of Hamburg, NY and Brandi Fox of Gloversville;
4 grandchildren, Kyle and Shane Fox, and Brendan and Madeline Maurer; a sister, Marny (Paul) Boardway of Lake Suzy and Gloversville; a niece, Kristine (Brian) Begley of Winter Garden, FL, a nephew, Scott Boardway of Troy, NY; two great nephews and several cousins.

Memorial services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, December 1, 2012 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Further memorial services will be held in June in
Gloversville, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Charlotte Golf Club Landscape Project,
22400 Gleneagles Terrace, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 or to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd.,

Dear Pat and Family: We were very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We have many fond memories of Jim, dating back to when we were neighbors in Caroga Lake. We recall all the great times we had. As we grew up, we remember seeing him on the golf courses. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Pat, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Over the years Jim never changed, he was always the same, always a lot of fun. He will be missed.

To the family, Mr. Fox made 7th grade math a pleasure to go to and learn - even though the class was in a trailer and my classmates and I had to deal with the weather getting there. His humor and care in teaching the class proved how much he enjoyed teaching and being with the kids. This is the way he'll be remembered and in my heart I know he's in a better place. Dear Pat & family, I went through school with Jim and I must say he was one of the nicest guys I ever met. He was always cheerful and smiling. My two daughters had him as a teacher in high school and loved him. I last saw him at our 50th class reunion and I will not forget his joking around. I am so sorry for your loss. I played alot of golf with Jim at Nick Stoner golf course. He had a great outlook on life and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed.

Dear Pat, Marney, and family, I was so saddened to hear about Jim. My heart breaks for all of you. Jim was a wonderful person. His sense of humor was unbelievable! He made our union meetings so much fun! Jim was a fantastic teacher and loved by so many students and coworkers! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time.
