Charles Sweet

April 4, 1935 - July 5, 2007

He was born April 4, 1935 in Norwalk, Connecticut and moved to Port
Charlotte 13 years ago from there. He was a retired Parks and Recreation
Superintendent for the City of Norwalk. He served in the U.S. Army and received
his high school diploma from the U.S. Armed Forces Institute, Madison, WI. He
loved boating, camping and stock car racing. Charles was involved in family stock
car racing for over 40 years.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Eleanor Sweet of Port Charlotte;
a daughter, Donna L. Boccanfuso of Port Charlotte; two sons, Charles F. Sweet, II
and Kevin L.(Leisa) Sweet both of Port Charlotte; two sisters, Phoebe Dunlap of
Norwalk and Marion Brown of Vero Beach, FL; 4 brothers, William, James, and
Joseph Sweet all of Norwalk and Jack Sweet of Brookfield, CT; 6 grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna McGregor and a brother, Alfred Sweet.

To the Sweet Family, Sorry for your loss, but try and always remember the good times they will keep a smile on your face with tears of joy. We have great memories of Mr. Sweet he was very funny and always kind. Sabryna says she remembers when she was down there visiting, she would help clean up and he would give her a buck for helping out. He was kind, caring and above all a perfect gentlemen.He loved to laugh. Chuck was a great guy and will be deeply missed. A few years ago when visiting my Mother in FL., I picked up a rental car and had a bit of time to kill so I pulled into the beach and who do you suppose I saw??! Yep, it was Chuck! Dear Eleanor, When we were all young and growing up we would occasionally hear older people sayLife Goes By Too Fast.Then as we grow older we find that statement in its self to be filled with wisdom,because we now have become older and realize those old people were right.Now that this webpage is coming to an end for Chuck I just wanted to mention while I had a chance, that many familys move away from eachother and settle into different parts of the world, its a tribute to you Eleanor and Chuck that all of you bonded together as a family and shared your everyday lives. Working with Chuck was an experience to say the least I would often sit back and watch this guy straighten out any problem that would come to surface.I have learned alot from him.
