Charles (Charlie) F. Tynan, 72, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at his longtime residence in Port Charlotte.
Born June 26, 1934 in Somerville, Massachusetts, Charlie, a veteran of the Korean War, United States Navy and retired electrical contractor, moved to Port Charlotte in 1990 from Billerica, Massachusetts were prior to retirement, he owned and operated his own electrical contracting business. He was a member and Treasurer of the DAV Disabled American Veterans Chapter #82, Port Charlotte, 24 year member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2071 of Billerica, and the Massachusetts Electrical Contractors Association. He was Roman Catholic and a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 5399, Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 54 years, Helen A. Tynan; one son, Charles F. Tynan, Jr. of Port Charlotte; 2 grandchildren, Derek A. and Nicole A. Tynan, both of Port Charlotte; one brother, Edward J. Tynan of Dracut, MA, and one sister, Judith A. Pierce of Lowell, MA; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
