CHESTER M. BURDA, 87, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Tuesday, September 21, 2010
at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte.
He was born May 20, 1923 in Summit, Illinois and moved to Port Charlotte 23 years
ago from Willow Springs, IL. Chester was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S.
Army. He retired as Police Chief of the Willow Springs Police Department. He was a member
of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church of Port Charlotte.
Survived by his loving family, wife of 64 years, LaVerne E. Burda of Port
Charlotte; a daughter, Sharon (Tim) Harlow of Indian Head Park, IL; two sons, Richard M.
(Laurie) Burda of Lemont, IL and Larry M. (Joanne) Burda of LaGrange, IL; a sister,
Eleanor Dallio of Darien, IL; two brothers, Teddy (Patricia) Olesky of Bridgeview, IL and
Anthony (Loretta) Olesky of Paradise, CA; 6 grandchildren, Kristin Tobin, Lisa Kramer, Megan Burda, Trisha Burda, John Harlow and Robert Harlow and 7 great grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Illinois.
