Christopher R. Burke, 55, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Tidewell Hospice Inc. Port Charlotte, FL.
Chris was born to Robert and Annmarie (Nancy) Burke on December 20, 1960 in Rahway, New Jersey. Chris was a Deputy Sheriff for the Charlotte County Sheriff Department for many years. He was the coach for the YMCA youth soccer league. He was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and enjoyed fishing many times with his buddies, Bill and Tom. Chris was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Tylene; his daughter, Brittany Burke of Port Charlotte; a step-son, Daniel (Chemenda) Sawyer of Deep Creek, FL; his sister, Sharon (Bill Reichhardt) Burke Murray of Annapolis, MD and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerry Burke.

A Memorial Service will be held 4:00PM, Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tidewell Hospice Inc, 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238.

There are no words to explain how my heart goes out to the family. I worked with Chris and he always knew how to make laugh. Like the day he was responding to a call of a house fire, they all went to the wrong address but it turned out they did in fact have a fire, it was Chris's patrol car. Chris you will be greatly missed My Brother In Green. Heaven has themselves a new Angel. God speed.
