Damon Jeffrey McNamara, 24, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Georgia.
Damon was born to David Chastain, Jr. and Kimberly A. Martin on February 19, 2000 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Damon was a brain tumor survivor at the age of 9 and 10 years old. He loved 4 wheelers, fixing cars, trucks, 4 wheelers, and lawn mowers. He was a kid with an adult body. He was a loud talker making sure people heard him. He often called his e-pen his Pen Pen. Damon loved perogies and onions, fresh fruit, his mother’s spaghetti and his pub subs. He called his grandmother, “Mum” and his mother, “Mommy”. He was comical of sorts, he loved to help people with anything, complain about it but got the job done. Damon was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his loving son, Damon McNamara, Jr.; parents, David Chastain and Kimberly Martin; his brothers, Noah (Sierra) Martin, Shane Poling, III and Tyler Poling; his sisters, Haley (Caleb) Fisher and McKayla Martin; Stepfather, Wayne Schafer; his paternal grandparents, Henry and Dallas Mojica; his maternal grandmother, Christine McNamara; his uncle, Jacob McNamara; his father figures, Shane Poling and Alvin Martin; his aunt, Christine Bradley; his great-grandmother, Kym Ingram; his best friend and brother, Dakota Edsell and his dog, Chevy. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin Martin, Christian Martin, Wayne Schafer, Jr. and Shane Poling, Jr; his maternal grandfather, John McNamara and his uncle, John McNamara.
A visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. There will be a reception followed by the funeral service from 12:15PM-1:30PM at the New Day Church in Port Charlotte.
