DAVID J. “Butch” DAVIS, 69, of North Port, FL and formerly of Blakely and Archbald, PA died March 3, 2012 after a short illness.
He was born November 30, 1942 to the late Herman and Esther Kearney Davis and moved to Florida in 2003 from Archbald. He attended St. Pat’s High School in Olyphant, PA and was a graduate of Blakely High School Class of 1960. David was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. He served from 1960 to 1963 and worked in the Pentagon as a teletype specialist. David worked at Exide Battery, Dunmore Plant for 23 years as a machine operator. He was a former member of Blakely Ambulance Assn. Blakely Hose Co. #2 and is a member of the American Legion. He loved to travel, but his greatest pleasure was his family, friends and living in Florida.
David was married to Patricia Baldinuncci Davis and they recently celebrated their 47th Wedding Anniversary on February 27, 2012. He is also survived by a son, Davis J. Davis of Scranton, PA; two daughters, Donna M. Davis of Lanai, HI and Debra Lynn ( John) Titkanich of Melbourne, FL; a sister, Marion Yazdzik of Milford, CT; a granddaughter, Erica Lyn Davis with a second grandchild expected in September; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday 11:00 AM, April 27, 2012 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Peckville, PA. Interment will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Archbald.
