DAVID BRIAN O’DELL, II, 25, of Port Charlotte, Florida died at his home in Port Charlotte. He took this first amazing breath on August 8, 1987 and his last breath on April 25, 2013. “Every night you look into the sky and see a thousand lights, tonight you will see one more light shining down”.
Brian was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina and moved to Morehead City, North Carolina where he graduated from West Carteret High School. He was the Owner Loyalty Manager at Harbor Nissan in Port Charlotte. He loved his job serving his customers and laughing with his co-workers. He attended full Sail University in Orlando, Florida and graduated from North Carolina State, Raleigh, NC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
He was loved by many, brought laughs to many and will be forever remembered. Brian now joins his natural father, David Brian Odell, who he unconditionally loved and who died in November of 2010.
Brian is survived by his loving mother, Kathryn Farnsworth Gladwell and his dad Richard Samuel Gladwell of Punta Gorda, FL; his one and only beloved Meagan L. Hancock of Punta Gorda, his brothers, Jason (Anna) Gladwell of Wake Forest, NC, Clay (Abigail) Gladwell of Punta Gorda, Ryan Gladwell of Raleigh, NC, his sister, Jamie Gladwell (Zac) Blasingame of Wake Forest, his God brother, Tucker muse of Morehead City, NC; maternal grandparents, Hugh and Christine Farnsworth of Columbia, SC and Mary W. Currin of Morehead City, NC; Uncle and Aunt Hugh and Debbie Farnsworth of Macon, GA; Uncle and Aunt Mike and Pamela Long and cousins, Chad and Jason Long of Fairview, NC; nephews, Ryker Gladwell, Asher and Hudson Gladwell and Triston Blasingame.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday 5:30 PM, April 30, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, 459 Gill Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Pastor Barrett Hardin will officiate.
In lieu of flowers a donation made be made to the David Brian O’Dell Foundation, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 314 Taylor Street, Punta Gorda, FL 33950, where a foundation will be set up in Brian’s name to help those who have been unable to cope with grief after the loss of a loved one. His memory will forever and always live through those he loved. He was an amazing and beautiful gift from God whom touched many people’s lives. He in so many ways was a saving grace for many people. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” Psalm 116:15.
