Donald Francis Crawford, 78, of Punta Gorda , Florida, formerly of Natick, MA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Bayfront Health-Punta Gorda.

He was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on May 30, 1937. Don proudly served in the Coast Guard stationed in Boston, MA, where he met and married the love of his life Ruth Crawford (Nowokunski). Don retired from Polaroid Corp in Waltham after 37 years. His passion for sailing lead he and his first mate Ruth to enjoy a few years living aboard their sailboat traveling Maine to Florida eventually settling in Punta Gorda FL. Don lived life to the fullest and will be remembered as a loving, passionate and thoughtful father, brother, uncle and friend.

Don is survived by his wife Ruth and his 5 children, Jean F Bradford (David) Janice Smith (Marc Martin) Donald J Crawford, Kathleen G Martin (Tim) and Patricia Crawford, his grandchildren David, Emily and Joseph Bradford, Sean and Cassandra Smith, Madison Crawford, Jon, Jared, Matthew, Ryan Crawford, 2 Great grandchildren, Jayne and Liam, his brother Jim Crawford (Carol) and his sister Marion Gilbert, and many nieces and nephews.

Private memorial services will be held by the family.
