Patti and Don's Family, I am so sorry. Donny was a great friend and coworker. I hope these words bring you comfort. Death is nothing at all I have only slipped away into the next room I am I and you are you Whatever we were to each other That we are still are. Call me by my old familiar name, Speak to me in the easy way you always used. Put no difference into your tone, Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed At the little jokes we always enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effort Without the ghost of a shadow in it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; There is absolute unbroken continuity. What is death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind Because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you for an interval, Somewhere very near Just around the corner All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again! Canon Henry Scott-Holland, 1847-1918, Canon of St Paul's Cathedral

Pat and family, We want you to know how much all our hearts are hurting for you. Donald was a wonderful grandfather and father-in-law. His light spirit and fun-filled heart will never be forgotten. Sarah will always remember feeding the birds with him in Florida and the day the bird landed on her head. We can almost hear him laugh! You will all be in our prayers. Know that we are thinking of you.

It is amazing how time goes. It finds you realizing that 15+ years go by before you know it. Knowing Don, the McNaney's and the Murphy's for that length of time (and possibly more), there are times that can be recalled where laughter was constant at many gatherings. I was very fortunate to be a part of those gatherings. Don will be missed, but the fond memories that follow the thoughts of him will always bring a smile to my face. My deepest sympathy for the McNaney and Murphy families.

Don and I worked for the State of NY at Marcy State Hospital and then Mohawk Valley PC. I remember when he purchased the RV and how happy he was to retire. Thanks for all the help that you gave me while working for NYS. Great guy and a person that will be missed. God speed......
