Dora Ann Tittel, 71, of North Port, Florida became an angel Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the HealthSouth-Ridge Lake Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. She was born August 22, 1938 in Newark, New Jersey. Dora, formally of Newark, NJ, moved to North Port, FL in 1980. She enjoyed her part-time volunteer position with the Senior Friendship Centers where she lent her ear, friendship, and helped with errands for local seniors. She had many fond memories of her trips to New Orleans, Las Vegas, a cruise to the Caribbean and visiting her sister in North Carolina. Dora had a love for helping people and also had a love for animals. Her passion was cooking and loved to spread her love by making her family and friends a big Italian Dinner. Dora touched many lives along her journey and she will be held special in so many hearts. Dora will be sincerely missed by her daughter, Betsy Herlihy of North Port; her granddaughter Valerie Ehrenfeld and her Husband Scott of North Port, her grandson Gary Vincent Cristina; her sisters, Mary Hinkley of NC, Santa Rodino of NJ, Carol Blanton of TX, Chris Turner of FL; Brother August Tittel, Jr. of PA; numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces, and grandnephews. She was preceded by her father August Tittel Sr. and her mother Bessie Siracusa Tittel. Dora’s wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes scattered and her family will lay her to rest in the waters of Boca Grande during a private memorial service.
