Doris was born June 1, 1931 in Runaway Bay, Jamaica and moved to Port Charlotte over twenty five years ago from Brooklyn, New York. She worked for many years as a certified nursing aide for Doctors Hospital in New York. Doris was a member of Port Charlotte United Methodist Church.
Survived by her children, Sandra Adams of Manalapan, New Jersey, Kadien Adams of Hollis, New York, and Clive Adams of Woodstock, Maryland; sisters, Daphne Shelton of Cleveland, Ohio and Cindy Hanson of Duncan, Jamaica; a brother, Astead Green of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren, Lacee and Bryce and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother who will be missed, up not forgotten.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday January 17, 2017 at Port Charlotte United Methodist Church from 10:00 AM with Funeral Services at 11:00 AM. Dr. Craig Moore will officiate. Interment and committal services will follow at 2:30 PM at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Trinity, Florida.
