DORIS “Dee” BISHOP, 72, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Consulate Health Care of Port Charlotte.
She was born October 10, 1941 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Rosario and Angelina Attenello. Dee and her husband William moved to Port Charlotte in 1976 from England. She was retired phlebotomist and worked in the Lab at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte for 20 years. At the hospital she was on the Patient Family Experience Team. She was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. At church she was member of the Choir, former member of the Administrative Board, and a former teach of the 5th Grade Sunday School Class. She volunteered at the Douglas T. Jacobson’s State Veterans Home in Port Charlotte.
Survivors include her loving family, her husband of 52 years, William S. “Bill” Bishop of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Bonnie Calhoun of Biloxi, MS; a son, William G. Bishop of Seville, TN; a sister, Rosemarie Attenello of Hartford, CT; a brother, Richard Attenello of Homer, AK; and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Bishop, a sister, Lenore White, a half- sister, Bertha Poole, and a half-brother, Joseph Booker.
Memorial services will be held Friday 3:00 PM, November 22, 2013 at the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. Rev. Brian James will officiate.
