Doris Loraine (Moore) Georgia, 81, of Port Charlotte, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 28, 2009. She was surrounded by her family at home.
Doris was born September 5, 1928 in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Lystra and Myra (McCain) Beadle. In 1952, she married Richard Glenn Moore of Peebles, Ohio, who passed away in 1977 after 25 beautiful years of marriage. Doris moved to Port Charlotte in 1990 to be closer to family. She married Charles Georgia of North Port, Florida, in 2000 who also preceded her in death in 2005.
Doris was a faithful member of New Day (First) Christian Church of Port Charlotte, and worked for the Wal-Mart Super Store in Murdock as a cashier for 15 years. She retired from Wal-Mart in 2005 at the age of 76 to become “Nanny” for her first great-granddaughter, Isa Bell Perez.
Doris was an exquisite and gracious woman who loved, and dedicated her life to, her family. Her sacrifices were immeasurable; her love unconditional and never ending. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest treasures and most abundant sources of joy. One of her greatest blessings and answer to prayer came just last year when her granddaughter, Emily, age 27, who was born with Cystic Fibrosis, received a bilateral lung transplant and a second chance at life.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Kay Reed of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Ann (Wayne) Perez-Rose of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Richard James (Cheryl) Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren: Paul Michael Reed, Joe Perez, Emily (Timmy) Bell-Perez, Sarah (Rick) Szymanski, Zachary Moore, Benjamin Moore, Sara Rose, Kimberly Rose; and great-grandchildren, Isabel Emiliana Bell-Perez, Nicolette Reed, and Keegan Reed.
The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM followed by funeral services at 4:00 PM at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 4th at 11 AM at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
