I will miss Rick. He had a great and informal way with his patients and always had something interesting and often amusing to say during my appointments. Before I went to him at my wife's urging, I was skeptical of chiropractors, but his techniques and results made me a believer. Our condolences to Rick's family.

Having been incapacitated myself with a broken hip since April, I hadn't been in touch with Rick. When I tried to call the office to make an appointment, I was overwhelmed that it was closed. Today I tried again and when I didn't get a message, I did a google search. I have been a patient of Rick's since I moved here in 2004. Needless to say I am in a state of shock. I just can't believe it! My prayers are with the family at this time. He will always be in my heart!

When the phone was constantly busy, he goggled his name & to our shock & surprise Dr. Mentzer had passed! We are so sorry & condolences to his wife, son, family, friends & patients!! He was our excellent chiropractor for 16 years!! We are deeply saddened to learn of this very sad news.

Heartfelt Condolences go out to the Mentzer Family! We were patients of Dr. Mentzer since we moved here in 2014. We walked into his office in pain and walked out feeling much better. We just returned from Canada and were very surprised and saddened about his passing. We will always remember the interesting conversations. He was a special person and will be deeply missed.

To the family of Dr Rick: I was saddened to hear of Rick’s passing. I lived in Port Charlotte from 2002 to 2012 and Rick was my Chiropractor. He was more than “just a doctor”, he was a fine man, a friend, and a trusted gentleman. He even noticed that there was something wrong with my skin and sent me to a dermatologist who diagnosed a form of lymphoma that was caught very early due to Rick’s watchful eye. I got treatment right away and was able to go into remission very quickly. This would not have happened without Rick’s help. Besides giving me an adjustment, he also gave me electrode treatments. While I was lying on my stomach getting the treatments, Rick and I would work crossword puzzles. What fun that was. I’ve missed his gentle ways since I moved north. I have not found any other chiropractor to treat me as Rick did. I look forward to seeing Rick on the other side of the River Jordan.

To the Mentzer family: I’m saddened to hear that Rick has passed. We were Fraternity brothers at Florida Southern and the friendship and times we shared at college were great. He was a Class Act who was congenial, polite and all around good guy. May you remember the memories and May he rest in peace

My deepest condolences to the family, I got to know and coach with Rick during the Pop Warner season our sons, Cory and Joe's Warrior team won the National Championship. It was immediately evident to me what a loving family man he was and how he shared that with others who may not have had that on the team. He and Mrs Mentzer raised a great young man who will keep his light shining.

I was shocked and heartbroken to hear of Dr. Rick's passing. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his wife, mother, children, and family. He was my chiropractor for 15 years. He accepted me on a Saturday many years ago when no other doctor would. He always amazed me with his uncanny ability to zero-in on what needed to be adjusted in my back. I also know that he helped many people even when they could not afford it. He and I are the same age, only separated by 6 months. During my visits, we had many conversations about various things in life. He will be missed very much.

My deepest condolences for the entire Mentzer family, my heart is breaking with yours. Dr. Rick was a great friend and co-worker to me. He listened to me moan about life, gave me wise advise, gave me a hard time about most things and I returned the favor. There was always a smile, a laugh or a Dad joke to help pass the day, the banter between him and his friends about who had the best golf game, the empathy and compassion he showed every patient he had, the pure joy on his face when he saw the patient improving. Dr. Rick was a great man who had great faith and will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
