Ed was born on September 15, 1948, in Bayshore, NY to Emilio and Nina Vuolo. Ed served in the Chemical Corps in the United States Army for 24 years. He served in Vietnam, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He was stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, Fort Benning, Ga, Fort Ord, CA, Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, Stuttgart and Ansbach Germany. He worked as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Specialist. He retired from the Army in 1995. Ed also worked for Charlotte County Public Schools as a Route Manger for 18 years. He worked in Englewood and Murdock ensuring safe bus operations. He retired in 2014. Ed loved traveling, boating, cruising, bowling, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah, and sons Edward Vuolo Jr. (Stacy) and Michael (Debbie) Vuolo, his grandchildren Rylie Snode, Rebecca Vuolo, Jacob (Lily) Snode, Michael Vuolo Jr., and Isabella Vuolo. His great grandchildren, Jazzlyn and Maliyah Walker, Addison, and Gracelyn Snode. He is survived by 4 brothers-in-law: Jack (Cory) Ewald, Joseph (Janine) Ewald, Chuck (Dawn) Ewald and Craig (Kathy) Ewald. He is survived by 5 sisters-in-laws: Susie Ostrow, Eleanor (Jim) Naslonski, Jennifer (Fred) Gebert, Corinne Vuolo and Carol Vuolo. He is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. He was predeceased by parents, Emilio and Nina Vuolo, his brothers Emilio Jr. and Ralph Vuolo and his nephew Skipper Vuolo, his mother and father-in-law Warren and Marian Ewald.
Visitation will be held 2:00PM-4:00PM and 5:00PM-7:00PM, Monday, September 23, 2204 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Entombment and military honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, Florida.
