Edward Albert “Ed” Fargo III, 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2013.
Ed was born in Evanston, Illinois, June 30, 1933. He graduated in 1955 from Williams College, where he was a member of Alpha Delta Phi. He served in the USAF as a jet fighter pilot stationed in France and England with the 48th Fighter Bomber Wing, where he met the love of his life, Camille Voght, who became his wife for the next 53 years.
He was employed by Procter & Gamble in Sales in Los Angeles, CA, Cincinnati, OH, Kansas City, MO, St. Louis, MO, and by PMI-Eisenhart, a St. Louis, MO food brokerage company. He served on the Board of Directors, Missouri Special Olympics. When they retired, Ed and Camille relocated to Riverwood in Port Charlotte, FL in 1998 were he enjoyed golf and tennis. Ed was a gentleman in every sense of the word. He made friends easily and enjoyed a lifetime of travel with Camille. He gave us many great memories and will be in our hearts forever.
He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife, Camille; son Edward and wife Jeanetta of Franklin, TN; daughter, Diane Murphy and husband Mark of Prior Lake, MN; four grandchildren, Adam and Emma Fargo, Jack and Curt Murphy; a sister, Sara Fargo of Santa Barbara, CA; step-sisters, Lynn Willmarth of Marina del Rey, CA, Polly Wadsworth of Edina, MN, and step-brother Robert Ripley of Tucson, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents Angela Downey Fargo and Edward A. Fargo, Jr., and stepmother, Janet Ripley Fargo.
A Committal service with military honors will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
Memorial donations in Ed’s name are suggested to the American Cancer Society Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge.
