Mr. Edward J. (Ed) Pettersen, 67, of East Canaan, Connecticut and Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Sunday morning November 8, 2009 at his Punta Gorda residence.

Born August 4, 1942 in Waterbury, Connecticut, Ed also known as Big Daddy was a winter resident of Punta Gorda, coming from his native Connecticut since 2005, and worked as a Security Guard for Lone Oak Campsites in East Canaan, CT. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2606 and attended Faith Lutheran Church, both in Punta Gorda.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 26 years, Mary J. Pettersen; two sons, Steven Brevi of Pleasant Valley, NY and Luigi Brevi of Redwood City, CA, and daughter, Robyn Martinez also of Redwood City, CA; one sister, Linda Pettersen of Winsted, CT; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
