Elaine was born June 25, 1932 in Rochester, New York to the late Evelyn (nee – Itkin) and Ira Cohen, and moved to Punta Gorda in 1982 from her native Rochester, with her husband Irving Bloom. A loving wife and mother of three, she was a member of Temple Shalom in Port Charlotte, a life member of Hadassah, and a member of Temple Shalom Sisterhood.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherri (Dr. Ted) Wernikoff of Raleigh, NC, Michele Bloom of Davie, FL, and Joyce (Robert) Oknefski of Wesley Chapel, FL; a brother, Raymond Cohen of Rochester, NY, five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Irving in October of 2003.
Funeral services will be held Sunday 11:00 AM, October 9, 2011 at Temple Shalom, 23190 Utica Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Interment will follow in the Star of David Section of Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Homes & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.
