Eldon E. Sundberg, 85, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at his residence.
Eldon was born on December 14, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Myrtle (nee-Julitz) and Eric Sundberg. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and retired Executive Engineer for Ford Motor Company, Eldon and his beloved wife of 62 years, Janet Marie (nee-Linenfelser), moved to Charlotte County in 1993 from Bloomfield, MI. He was a faithful member of San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, Florida, loved to travel to far away places, and was an avid Model train enthusiast.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet; five children; sons Eldon, James and Daniel Sundberg, and daughters Carol Sundberg and Anne Piche; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; a brother, Carl R. Sundberg; and numerous extended family members.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. this Thursday, February 28, 2013 at San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. A private committal will be held at a later date.
