Eleanor A. Massey, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Florida.

Eleanor was born November 3, 1937, in Chester, Pennsylvania to the late Elmer and Julia (Kenigy) Jones. She moved to Port Charlotte  34 years ago from Ogden, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Peace  River Baptist Church, Punta Gorda. Eleanor was very involved in her home church, Ogden Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir, and taught Sunday School. Eleanor was also involved with the Awana nonprofit  organization with both churches. She loved to knit and crochet and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survived by her loving family, her husband, William Leon Massey of Port Charlotte;  daughter, Nancy I. Byrne of Port Charlotte; son, Paul Massey of Port Charlotte, and a brother, Robert Jones of California, nine  grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, William Massey, grandson, Samuel Massey, daughter-in-law, Joyce Massey, and great grandson, Ronan Frieze.

Visitation will be held Wednesday Oct. 23, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Roberson Funeral Home, 215 Mary St., Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM Oct. 24, 2024, at the Peace River Baptist Church, 478 Berry St., Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Service for Eleanor will be followed with a luncheon. Private interment at Sarasota National Cemetery. Sarasota, Florida.
