Florence Cupo, 81, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at her home in Port Charlotte.
Florence was born to the late John and Margaret Walton on September 26, 1935 in Paterson, New Jersey. Florence was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church for many years. She was past president of the National Council of Catholic Women and the women’s Emmaus. She was a wonderful and loving woman who loved life to the fullest and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Survivors include her loving husband, Joseph; 5 sons, Timothy Cupo of Tafton, PA, Thomas Cupo of Chattanooga, TN, Joseph Cupo, Jr. and James Cupo both of Port Charlotte and Dean Cupo of Leeds, AL; a sister, Peggy Benkendort of Pocomoke, MD; her brother, James Walton of Alford, FL; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Walton and her sister, Doris Bokma.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00AM, Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 1441 Spear St. Port Charlotte, FL 33948. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
