Florence was born March 8, 1924 in Point Hill, St. Catherine, Jamaica, West Indies and moved to Port Charlotte in 1988 from Hartford, Connecticut. She was a Certified Nurse’s Assistant at Mt. Sinai in Hartford, CT where she worked for many years assisting those in medical needs. Florence was a member of St. James Episcopal Church for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will always be remembered by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Claudette Smith of London, Ontario, Canada and Beverly (Carlton) Grant of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; son, Ramsay Schloss of Bronx, NY; sister, Vera Taylor of Hartford, CT; 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews to mourn her loss. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Travers and daughter, Sean.
Visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at St. James Episcopal Church, 1365 Viscaya Drive Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00AM, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the church. Interment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, FL.
