Frances Ann “Fran” (Weller) Kyriakopoulos departed this world suddenly and was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on June 24, 2026, in Port Charlotte, Florida, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 29, 1946, Fran was the youngest of four children born to Elizabeth and William Weller. She spent her childhood in New York and was known from an early age for her joyful spirit and warm heart.

Fran began working as a waitress while still young, where she met the love of her life, Peter Kyriakopoulos. The couple married on October 31, 1965, and shared 60 wonderful years together filled with love, devotion, faith and family. Together, they owned and operated several successful restaurants on Long Island while raising their son before moving to Florida. They later continued their restaurant careers in Florida, operating several more restaurants before retiring.

Fran was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Known for her compassionate heart and kind spirit, she was truly remarkable and beloved by all who knew her. She was also an active member of Philoptochos at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. An avid baker, Fran’s cheesecakes and cookies were treasured traditions at holidays and birthdays and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and William Weller; and her siblings, Lillian, Margaret, and George.

Fran is survived by her beloved husband, Peter Kyriakopoulos; her son, Peter Kyriakopoulos; her grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher; and her niece, Theresa Cheshire.

A viewing will be held this Monday, June 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral starting at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Very Rev. Dr. Michael Bahlatzis will officiate.
