It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Eyleen Hall, 91, of Port Charlotte, FL announces the peaceful passing of their beloved mother at her home in Port Charlotte on September 5, 2025.
Frances was born in Marion, SC, to her parents Jere Stoll Meggs and Elizabeth Victoria Meggs, and she attended school in Key West, FL. She was a tireless and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Frances raised her six children in Miami, FL, and worked in both the restaurant/hospitality industry and the medical field until her retirement. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling and gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Frances will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
Frances is survived by her children: Jere Elizabeth Hall, Morton Neal Hall Jr., Melanie Louise Flynn, Robert Henry Hall, Felicia Ann Hall, and James Irvin Hall; as well as her siblings Barbera Joan St. John, Felicia Elizabeth Close, and Lawrence Anthony Meggs. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Jere Stoll Meggs, and her mother, Elizabeth Victoria Meggs.
A memorial service will be held at Roberson Funeral Home, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33949, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 AM. A celebration of her life will follow at Sheraton Four Points Hotel, 33 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, FL 33950, at 12:00 PM.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Frances’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
