Several years ago, when I was working part time as an "escort" for the residents of South Port Square, one person hadn't come down for the bus. So I used the phone at the desk at Gables West and called Frances. She answered the phone immediately and said "I'm putting my shoes on, Pat. I'll be down in a minute" I said "this is Sam, Frances. Pat is already on the bus". She said "o.k., down in a minute". When she got on the bus, we had a hearty laugh about the phone call. Every time we saw each other on campus after that day, she would say "Hi Pat!" and I would say "Hi shoes!" and we'd have a big laugh. When people overheard us they thought we were both silly. Than one of us would say "it's an inside joke!!!" I still work at SPS, but now I only teach 2 art classes a week. I still look for her in the walk-way between buildings so we can have a laugh together. I'll miss her very much. My heartfelt sympathy to her family.

Fran was a wonderful 'big sister'. During the working years we lived fairly close and were able to spend a lot of time together. She and her husband, Earl, were with my husband and me when we were married. then when we lost our 18 year old son following a bad accident, Fran and Earl spent several days with us in the hospital. This was not mentioned in the obit, but she had a son, Richard, who died in the late 90's following an illness. I am so very pleased that she had so many good friends there at South Port and I am especially pleased that her caretakers became such dear friends. Betty was a dear friend and has become like a sister to me.

Christmas will not be the same this year without my dear friend Fran. I'm so glad I got to attend the South Port Singers Christmas concert with her. She loved participating in all the South Port happenings and enjoyed life in general. What an inspiration she has been to me over the years. Her jolly spirit, sweet smiles, generosity, kind & friendly words ......will be never be forgotten. Some people come into our lives - leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. I thank God for bringing her into my life. I miss her, but I know she is with the Lord now and will continue to love and enjoy her everlasting life. Dale Moore, CNA South Port Square
