Dr. Frank L. Cushing, Jr, 90, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on September 1, 2012 in Punta Gorda.

He was born December 1, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a dentist in St. Louis County for 37 years before retiring and later moving to Florida. Frank was a part of the St. Louis Dental Society and also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Cushing of Punta Gorda; son, Frank L. (Barbara) Cushing III of Punta Gorda; sister, Audrey Layton of St. Louis, MO; brother, Donald (Idell) Cushing of Union, MO; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his son, Mark S. Cushing. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Friday, September 7, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda, FL. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent dePaul at 25200 Airport Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.

Frank and Barb...Bob and I saw your Father's obituary in this AM's paper and were saddened to hear the passing of a friend's parent. Not many of us are fortunate to still have our parents with us (mine passed last year just shy of his 90th) so when a true Patriarch leaves us...there is a large gap in our lives.
