Frank “Frankie” T. Garriton, 89, of Port Charlotte, Florida, followed the Lord faithfully into heaven on February 2, 2023.
Frank was born January 3, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Anthony and Genevieve Garriton. He moved to Port Charlotte in 1989 with his wife Pat from New Jersey. Frank attended St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Frank had various jobs throughout his life, and retired as bus driver for Charlotte County Transit.
Frank was devoted to God and enjoyed many hobbies such as singing and performing with “Peace River Productions” a musical revue troupe, writing short stories, playing cards and going to the track. Frank never met a stranger and anyone who met him was better for having done so.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve “Jean” Apolaro, father Anthony Thomas Garriton, stepfather Fedele “Al” Apolaro, and sister, Fortunata “Flora” Leone.
Survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Garriton (nee Wagner) of Port Charlotte; a son, Thomas (Laura) Garriton of Manalapan, NJ; a daughter, Sandra Martinez of Fayetteville, NC. He also left behind his beloved dog “Minnie” (“the moocher”).
Frank celebrated the joy of six grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Bennett, Caitlyn Marie Bennett, Eric Francisco Martinez, Ashlee (Rich) Bracken, Thom (Alina) Garriton, and Andrew (Ashley) Garriton. Frank was a great-grandfather to one great-grandson, Aiden Glenn, five great-grand-daughters, Olivia, Aubrey, Juliette, Georgina, and Madison, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The date is Saturday, 12:00 noon, March 4, 2023, at the Bashment Event Center located at 1700 Tamiami Trail, Unit B1, in Port Charlotte, Florida 33948; please note, the Bashment Event Center is within the Perkins Plaza in Port Charlotte.
