Geetha Narayan, 73 years, from Punta Gorda Isles, FL sadly left us on September 20, 2022.
Geetha was born on March 10,1949 in Kerala, India to Mr. P. Ramachandran and Sarojini Ramachandran. She was the eldest of four. She acquired a Master’s degree in Hindi literature from the University of Kerala and pursued a career as a college Hindi Professor. Though she always joked that Hindi was her most challenging subject, she was a renowned Professor who was loved and admired by students. In her late 20s, she married Dr. Dev Narayan, and together in the 1970s they moved to England and subsequently the United States to build their life together. Her greatest pride is that she raised two beautiful girls, Late Dr. Parwathy Narayan and Dr. Roja Narayan. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Jijo Balakrishnan and two precious grandchildren (Sachin and Vyana), two brothers, Sanjeev and Anil, and sister Neetha. Geetha is known by loved ones for her sincerity, compassion, generosity, and warmth. She was an endless optimist. Despite major hardships, she forged forward with resilience and unyielding inner strength. She carried unrelenting faith and spirituality and was always learning and evolving. Geetha strongly believed in service to others and volunteered in many local community organizations such as CARE, Hospice, the Church, etc. throughout her lifetime. She was bubbly and outgoing, making friends with ease and grace. She was happiest when surrounded by and entertaining loved ones. She loved nature, the great outdoors, and took great pride in her plants and garden. A voracious reader – she had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and personal growth. Geetha was one of the kindest souls who touched countless hearts. Her life is an inspiration to many, and her legacy will live on within her daughter, grandchildren, and future generations. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
