GEORGE E. CROWTHER, JR., 89, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte.

He was born November 21, 1920 in Washington, D.C. and moved to Port Charlotte in 1976 from Germantown,MD. He was a retired machinist for the U.S National Bureau of Standards. George was a member of St. Maximilian
Kolbe Catholic Church, Port Charlotte and a veteran of World War II, U.S. Army.

Survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty E. Crowther of Port Charlotte; two daughters, Suzanne Baggett of Morro Bay, CA and Carol Perry of Greencastle, PA; a son, Gary Crowther of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and 5 grandchildren.
